A WALK THROUGH THE TEA ESTATE - THE GLENBURN TEA ESTATE
Glenburn Tea Estate lies just an hour from Darjeeling, high in the Himalayas of West Bengal, India. This heavenly little plantation retreat is situated above the banks of the River Rungeet, and is overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga. Home to generations of tea planters, it was originally established in 1860 and remains today a working tea estate. Owned and run by the Prakash family, it is a wonderful and peaceful place to stay. Wildlife abounds and there is plenty to do by way of a private tour of the tea estate for walking, trekking, fishing, picnicking and bird watching.

WALK THROUGH THE HILLS - THE WINDERMERE ESTATE
The Windermere Estate sits high in the Palni Hills of India, in the middle of the magnificent Western Ghats, in Kerala. This lovely little place comprises rooms and cottages perched on a hilltop, surrounded by cardamom plantations. The 360 degree views are truly awe-inspiring and you often find yourself looking down on the clouds below you, before they get burnt off by the sun to reveal the huge valley below and the distant ring of hills. Friendly staff will take travellers on long walks in the hills or on an exciting walk through the maze of tunnels through their private cardamom estate. Delicious, local cuisine and thirst quenching mint tea awaits travellers on their return from a vigorous and informative walk.

THE KUMAON VILLAGE EXPERIENCE - DANA
'Dana', literally translates to 'hill' in the local language. This is our unique village walk program that takes you through local Kumaoni villages, allowing you to experience village life first hand. The trail leads through forests of oak, cedar, rhododendron and pine while crossing some of the most interesting terraced fields, waterfalls and rivulets. See centuries-old village and temple architecture, beautifully carved windows, doors and slated roofs where you will be hosted. Sample home grown organic food, and experience traditional Kumaoni hospitality. Watch ancient techniques of agriculture and water-run flourmills that are still in use here. The accommodations are rustic but from the typical Kumaoni school of architecture and extremely comfortable with basic amenities, clean linen and delicious yet hygienic local food. The village houses overlook the valleys down below and are located on a 'Dana'.
