Itinerary

After a traditional Sri Lankan welcome at the Colombo airport, we will check into our hotel. Colombo is a chaotic mix of the old and new, experiencing a building boom with an ever transforming skyline. It is a vibrant and sprawling city with it's historic colonial architecture at Fort, bustling street markets in Pettah, and stylish eateries and modern hotels on Galle Road. We'll take a city tour covering its historical and important landmarks such as the mile-long promenade of Galle Face Green and the exclusive district of Cinnamon Gardens where you will find Independence Hall.

We'll check out of the hotel and leave for the heritage city of Kandy, which is beautifully located on a plateau surrounded by the Central Highland mountains. It is a World Heritage site where the Sinhalese culture is still preserved. We'll spend the rest of the day at leisure in Kandy.

After breakfast proceed sightseeing of Kandy

It is also home to ""Buddha's Tooth"", rescued from the flames of his cremation and Sri Lanka's most cherished relic, showcased at the Temple of the tooth built in the 4th Century. In the evening, we'll witness the captivating Kandyan dance performance with elaborate costumes, swirling dance moves, and fire breathing stunts before returning to the hotel. The next day, we'll visit the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens just outside the city. Spread over 147 acres, it houses over 4000 species of plants, with a beautiful collection of orchids, cannonball trees, coconut palm trees, a spice garden, giant bamboo, rubber trees, as well as a stately avenue of royal palms that was planted in 1950.

After leisurely having breakfast at your hotel drive to Sigiriya

Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock approximately 180 metres high.

After breakfast proceed to explore the sites and monuments of Sigiriya with your guide cum driver. Spend the exploring this beautiful town of historical importance.

After breakfast drive

Trincomalee is a port city on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka. Set on a peninsula, Fort Frederick was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. Within its grounds, the grand Koneswaram Temple stands on Swami Rock cliff, a popular vantage point for blue-whale watching. The holy complex contains ornate shrines and a massive statue of Shiva. Nearby Gokanna Temple has panoramic views over the city and the coastline.

After breakfast spend the day exploring the harbour city of Trincomalee located on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka. Witness nature, religious monuments adorn with beautiful artwork and paintings along with ancient architecture. Visit the temples which are believed to be as old as 5000 years.

Today will be your day to explore the golden beach of Trincomalee. Relax and sunbathe on the beach. It is one of the most calm and peaceful place to go swimming. You can also spend time whale watching which can be done from March to September.

Morning after having your breakfast at your hotel, drive to Anuradhapura.

Anuradhapura, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka is famous for it well preserved ruins of Sinhala civilization. Now a world heritage site, was once the centre of Buddhism and one of the oldest inhabited city.

Today after breakfast proceed to visit some of the most important places of the town. You will visit The Mahabodhi tree, Brazon Palace, the Maha Stupa, temples, twin ponds and the Buddha Statue.

Leisurely drive to Negombo after breakfast at your hotel.

Negombo town offers a fascinating introduction to the coastal life of Sri Lankan people. This beautiful beach destination is very close to the International airport. The city is known for its long sandy beaches and the fishing industry. The town has a catholic majority.

Transfer to international airport for flight to onward destination.
